Hello all!
What side effects are there to Tong Ren? In ancient China, there was a sort of cruel punishment where tapping on a small human figure could cause great pain for the victim. Perhaps this is what Tong Ren is, but just beneficial? This was so brutal that it was banned, and the details were lost throughout history. If true, it does show the great power of tapping. Is there any place or pattern of tapping that could be detrimental?

    No. Ineffectual, possibly, but detrimental absolutely not. That said, anyone who is placing a completely negative intent can cause issues via any modality, but the modality itself is not the issue there.
