Is Pain and swelling of the neck associated with the liver channel as is testicular swelling and pain.
Is the Heat due to external pathogenic factor and liver heat rising?

As with all western conditions/issues, the first thing you do is come to your own TCM diagnosis by considering all factors properly. Certainly the TCM treatment of mumps can be related to liver fire, or liver damp heat, but they can come from wind-heat invasions, heart/liver imbalances among other possible Chinese Medicine diagnoses.
Acupuncture treatment will be planned based on the tcm diagnosis, but also the stage of the disease process.
