It would depend greatly on the underlying diagnosis in Chinese Medicine terms - see “What Does Acupuncture Treat?” for pattern differentiation (eastern) vs. treating symptoms (western).
Generally, however, if the hernia is larger than a dime surgery is the quickest and most effective option with very limited risk in most cases.
